Commemorating Victims of the Genocide of Ukrainian People
Representatives of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Kyiv have visited a monument to the victims of the Genocide of the Ukrainian people in the St. Michael's Square in Kyiv. They have commemorated millions of Ukrainians who were straved to death through the artificial famine organized by Russian Communists in 1932-1933.

ULC Synodical Council Meeting and Convention
Ukrainian
Lutheran Church Synodical Council meeting took place in Kremenets on October
21, 2014. The meeting took place in the building of the Holy Cross Lutheran
Church. The Convention of the ULC has also taken place in the same building on
October 22 and 23, 2014. The Convention was open by Pastor Roman Andruntsiv
(Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Kremenets) devotion. The Convention received a
hearty greeting in a letter from the
Rev. Mark Schroeder, WELS President. Brothers Mark Massmann, Sean Young as well as Rev. Neal Schroeder (all from the U.S.A.) have greeted the Convention in person. The Convention has accepted reports of the ministers of the church and her congregations. The Convention has reelected Brother Ihor Rudzik (Resurrection Lutheran Church, Kyiv) to serve as the Secretary of the ULC and Deacon Vasyl Andreychuk (Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Kremenets) to serve as the Treasurer of the ULC. The first day of the Convention was closed by the Holy Liturgy. Pastor Victor Paschenko (Christ the Savior Lutheran Church, Sevastopol) served as the Convention preacher. On Thursday devotion of Pastor Oleksandr Kulchytskiy (Tyraspol, Moldova) continued the Convention. This year essayist was Pastor Oleksandr Feschenko (God’s Grace Lutheran Church, Tokmak). His essay is titled “Pastor’s Assistants”. After discussing the essay, pastors have approved a Deacons Training Program as well as other programs and resolutions. The Convention was closed by the prayer of Pastor Oleksandr Husar (St. John Lutheran Church, Lazarivka). Bishop V’yacheslav Horpynchuk presided at the Convention.

Last Sunday
Last Sunday after the liturgy: our catechuman, Maksym Rudzik; sister Olesia Zhukovska who is a medical of our parish now; your humble servant and our deacon Serhiy Berezin. The deacon has a bouquet in his hands since he has celebrated his birthday last Sunday. We welcome Olesia into our parish and wish Serhiy once again a happy birthday!
